The EAB and PAB recognize that computing professions – by their very nature of constant evolution –demand lifelong learning of their practitioners and educators. The EAB provides support for educational programs in computing in schools and works with the Professional Activities Board to identify the needs of the computing community for continuing professional education and training. It also prototypes, develops and implements continuing professional education and training for members and nonmembers.
We worked with the ACM to define the five computing disciplines (computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, information systems and information technology) and to develop model university curricula for these disciplines. We also provide expertise for development of accreditation criteria for college and university programs and for the selection and training of program evaluators.
